Always opt to get the cooking gear and pillow + sheet set. They are a total game changer and truly enhance the trip! While you’re picking up your campervan, also ask if there are any leftover propane canisters for cooking – typically people leave them behind and the staff has been nice enough to lend us them in the past.
Depending on your height, some vans might not be able to sleep up to the number they have on the site. The pop-up tent on the top is advertised to fit two people, but if you’re 6 feet tall and over, you will likely only be able to fit one person comfortably.

The drop-off procedure is very easy and only took us about 5-10 minutes. Make sure to fill up the gas tank before you drop it off! There is a gas station only a few minutes before you get to the rental office, which is super convenient. When dropping the car off, all you need to do is pull up, unload the car and hand over the keys for them to do an inspection of the car to make sure there’s no damage.
After they look over the car and everything looks good, you’ll get a receipt and you’re good to go. You can easily get an Uber or Lyft from any Escape Campervan location to get back to the airport and head out after a long trip!
