When you arrive, there are two separate parking lots with plenty of room to park. We recommend the one up Haukadalsvegur road on the left, since it has more space and has a closer entrance for the full geysir field. There is a path right off of the parking lot where there is an information plaque to show the names of the geysirs and map of the setup.
While there are many different geysers in the park, the main one is called Strokkur and is right in the center – usually with a crowd surrounding it. This particular geyser goes off regularly every 4-8 minutes, but sometimes it’s pretty erratic and goes off more frequently. We only needed to stay for 15-20 min and watched the geyser go off a few times before heading out
